The Commission for Religious Relations with Muslims
The Commission was established by Pope Paul VI in 1974 as an information and reflection body reporting to the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, but distinct from it. The Commission is composed of the President, the Secretary and the Head of Office for Islam of the PCID as well as 8 consultors. The different geo-religious backgrounds of the Consultors help to investigate issues concerning the relationship between Christians and Muslims from a theoretical and practical point of view as they are dealt with in different countries.
The Commission most recently published Christians and Muslims: Bearers of Hope, in 2020.
