The Commission for Religious Relations with Muslims
The Commission was established by Pope Paul VI in 1974 as an information and reflection body reporting to the Secretariat for Non-Christians, but distinct from it. The Commission is composed of the President, the Secretary and the Head of Office for Islam of the PCID as well as 8 consultors. The different geo-religious backgrounds of the Consultors help to investigate issues concerning the relationship between Christians and Muslims from a theoretical and practical point of view as they are dealt with in different countries.
The Commission most recently published Christians and Muslims: Bearers of Hope, in 2020.
