Visit of the Participants of the summer seminar on Religion and Global Politics
Participants in the Summer Seminar on Religion and Global Politics paid a visit to the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue on 25 June 2026. The delegation was led by Prof. Driessen and included a group of twenty students affiliated with Nahdlatul Ulama, the Indonesian Islamic organization.
The visit offered an occasion for dialogue between the young participants and dicastery officials on themes at the intersection of religion, politics, and international affairs. Discussion touched on the role religious communities play in shaping public life, the challenges of promoting mutual understanding across faith traditions, and the contribution of interreligious cooperation to peace and social cohesion in a globalized world.
The encounter also allowed the students to gain firsthand insight into the work of the Holy See in fostering dialogue among religions, while offering dicastery representatives an opportunity to learn from the perspectives and experiences of a new generation engaged in the study of religion’s role on the world stage.
