Pope’s Peace Day Message Emphasizes Dialogue, Education, Labour

by PCID Staff

The Holy Father’s Message for the 55th World Peace Day (1 January 2022) focuses on inter-generational dialogue, education, and the dignity of labour. Through these “tools,” humanity can build a lasting peace.

In a peaceful world, the wisdom of the old supports the dynamism of the young, creating inter-generational harmony.

Education as a means to integral development is a solid investment in peace, especially when it promotes a “culture of care.”

Labour, an indispensable means of giving and receiving self, is the foundation upon which justice and solidarity are built.

Pope Francis closes his message with these words: “I make this appeal: let us walk together with courage and creativity on the path of intergenerational dialogue, education, and work. May more and more men and women strive daily, with quiet humility and courage, to be artisans of peace.”
