Pope Francis Gives Annual New Year Greetings to Diplomatic Corps

On January 10, 2022, Pope Francis gave his annual New Year greetings to members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Holy See. 183 countries maintain diplomatic relations with the Holy See.

During the address, Pope Francis gave a summary of the “state of the world.”

Among his themes were the need for equitable vaccine distribution, the plights of migrants, the reform of international organizations, human rights and care for the planet, peace efforts, and strengthening bonds of fraternity through dialogue.
