Buddhists and Catholics from USA meet at Castel Gandolfo

Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran invited Buddhists and Catholics from the United States to engage in a dialogue of fraternity at the Mariapolis Center at Castel Gandolfo. Forty-Six Buddhist and Catholic nuns, priests, monastics, and scholars attended the dialogue during June 23-27, 2015. The topic was “Suffering, Liberation, and Fraternity.”
Cardinal Tauran arranged for the participants to meet with Pope Francis. Pope Francis encouraged the Buddhists and Catholics to work together in caring for the poor and elderly.
