“When we get to know each other, we discover we have a lot in common”

On Wednesday, November 5, at the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, fifty Israeli, Palestinian, and American students participating in the Meaning Meets Us conference organized by Scholas Occurrentes met with Cardinal George Koovakad. It was a valuable moment of deep and sincere mutual sharing of life experiences, which encouraged the students to continue to be bridge builders and to sow dialogue and hope in their respective environments.

One of the young people present commented on the meeting as follows: “First of all, thank you very much to the Cardinal for receiving us. We always say that it is important to understand the world we live in. Freedom of expression can be difficult in our lands. And in Scholas we find that freedom to express what we feel. The fact that in such difficult times for the world, the Vatican helps us and listens to us is something enormous for us.”
